Inohae Gorge is a scenic spot located in Kitago-cho, Minami-naka-gun, Miyazaki Pref. The gorge is a part of the Inohae mountain stream, which flows into the Inohae River, a tributary of the Hiroto River. The gorge include the Goju Waterfall, the Iwatsubo waterfall, the Hakeai Waterfall and Oni-no-senjo-iwa Rock. The worth seeing most is the Goju Waterfall consisting of five steps with a total height of 25 m. The Iwatsubo Waterfall flows down a 10 m huge rock mass. The Hakeai Waterfall flows gently down the 8 m rock terraces. The area around the mountain stream is designated as Inohae Landscape Forest, where rocks and trees form a beautiful natural forest. This is a treasure trove of nature, where as many as 1800 species of moss including Nichinan moss distinctive to this area can be seen.
