小黒滝 Koguro-taki The Koguro Waterfall

Jp En

The Koguro Waterfall located in Toriumi, Daito-cho, Ichinoseki City, Iwate Pref. is a scenic place surrounded by fine landscape. It is in the upstream of the Toriumi River, a tributary of the Satetsu River. The waterfall consists of Otaki and Metaki, which flow down the height of about 20 m. Though it is not well-known, its elegant flow attracts visitors. As it is located near a drive way and the riverbank is not very steep, the area around the waterfall is a suitable place for family hiking. Whiteness of water flowing down the river bed of imbricate rocks against surrounding greenness of trees and grass creates a beautiful landscape in spring and summer, while the waterfall and autumnal foliage create a calm atmosphere in fall. The Koguro Waterfall is a scenic place with beautiful landscape that changes from season to season.
